We invite you to join us in celebrating the 54th Annual Newport Loyalty Day & Sea Fair Festival Parade to be held Saturday, May 1st, 2010 beginning at 12:00 pm. Beginning at N.E. 20th Street, the parade marches South on Hwy 101 for approx. 2 miles and diverts traffic around Hwy 101.
Staging for the parade will be at Pacific Plaza (NE 20th Street and Hwy 101) Check-in opens at 9:00 am. Judging begins at 10:00 am. The parade begins promptly at 12:00 pm. At check in, please have your group’s contact person pick up your entry packet with entry number. You will then be directed to the appropriate staging area for your entry.
Parade Judging: Judging will begin at 10:00 am in the various staging areas on parade day. All entries must be in place and manned in order to be considered for awards.
Entries: All entries will be judged according to the Loyalty Day theme, creativity, originality, time, effort, appearance, neatness and identification of entry sponsor. Deadline for entry April 22. Applications for the parade can be picked up at the Newport Chamber office or call (541) 961-1466.
Horse & Riders: Judging will be prior to the parade start at the Lincoln Co. Fair grounds; 10:00 am. Appearance, originality, animal - tack, manners and horsemanship. An adult must accompany any rider under the age of 12. For everyone’s safety, all mounted groups and individual riders will walk down as a group to the staging area. Please provide for pickup and disposal of all horse waste along the parade route.
Cars: Will be judged prior to the start of the parade. Cars will be judged on appearance in Four (4) categories. Pre 50’s, 60’s, 70’s to present as well as Best Car Club and Best Individual.
